Day 01 (Antananarivo Madagascar)

Tour Details

    • Arrive at Ivato International Airport.
    • You will be met and whisked off to the country’s capital city for your first night.
    • The hour long journey showcases Madagascar’s intriguing mix of new and old, tradition and modern, as you pass mobile phone shops before suddenly gliding past rice fields where time seems to stand still.
    • Lokanga Boutique Hotel sits quietly in a residential area where the hustle and bustle fades away in the greenery and historic features of this converted house.
    • Explore the narrow streets and culture of the city on guided tour, an exotic blend of Africa, Asia and something that is uniquely Malagasy.
    • Retire for the night in the serene rooms and gardens; enjoy a glass of local rum and taste of the island before the adventure really begins
    • Overnight stay at the Hotel

Destinations to Visit

  1. Antananarivo , Analamanga, (MADAGASCAR)

Day 02 (Northern Madagascar)

Tour Details

    • Breakfast at the hotel.
    • You leave the city behind as you fly north to the island’s tip, where the balmy tropical heat warms your face as you depart towards the Amber Mountain National Park.
    • The verdant rainforest sprawls across the hills, mists rising in the day and waterfalls cascading through the gorges. Perched on a ridge to the adjacent national park, the Litchi Tree looks out over the forest and is the idyllic location for exploring the reserve.
    • Once the home of Marshall Joffre a century ago, the house has been resorted to its former glory with character and history oozing from every corner. A labour of love by the owner is assured of excellent French cooking and a retreat from the everyday at this boutique guest house.
    • Plunge into the heart of the forest with your local guide, who will open up the secrets of the national park. Like all Madagascar reserves, you set out on foot to seek out the unique flora and fauna that call this area home. Brown lemurs leap from tree to tree above you, while in the leaves at your feet can be found the world’s smallest reptile, the Brookesia chameleon – smaller than your thumbnail and almost invisible amidst the detritus.
    • The dense greenery hides a myriad of waterfalls and lakes, which are tempting for longer treks during your stay. Set out in the darkness, head torch at the ready to catch the gleam of eyes which give away Madagascar’s nocturnal recluses.
    • A night walk reveals those weird and wonderful creatures only seen once the sun sets, from tiny mouse lemurs to owls that glare from the branches, an experience not to be missed.
    • Overnight stay at the Tree House.
